Why HD TV Better than Analog TV?

For a Smoother and Clear Picture Buy HD TV

HD TV literally means High Definition Television. Analog TV’s have low resolutions whereas HD TV is a high resolution Digital Television (DTV) with Dolby digital surround sound (AC-3). High Definition Television has six different formats. The scanning approach in the formats is either progressive or interlaced. Interlaced technology shows half an image every 1/60 of a second, which results in flickering and the eyes, can get tired. Progressive technology shows clear and smooth pictures as it shows a whole image every 1/60 of a second.

The picture detail in HD TV screen is 10 times more than normal TV due to its higher resolution in pixels. High Definition Television screen is a much wider screen due to the aspect ration. The sound quality is also high due to Dolby surround system.

It has become mandatory by the FCC in USA that all TV stations must broadcast High Definition Television programs by 2006. This requires broadcasting, cable companies and consumers to invest heavily in new equipment. Hence, HD TV has a great future. From black and white to color TV, wide screen TV to digital TV and now to HDTV, television has come a long way indeed.
